Cherokee

The Cherokee Unicode block is a range of code points in the Unicode standard that represents the characters used in the Cherokee writing system. The Cherokee writing system is a syllabary, which is an alphabetic writing system in which each letter represents a syllable, rather than a single sound. The Cherokee syllabary was invented by the Cherokee scholar Sequoyah in the early 19th century and consists of 85 letters. The Cherokee Unicode block includes all of the syllabic characters of the Cherokee writing system, as well as additional characters used to represent the sounds of other languages that are written in the Cherokee syllabary. The Cherokee Unicode block is part of the Unicode standard, which is a standardized character encoding system that allows computers to store and display text in a wide variety of scripts and languages.
